With over 600 members and 400 airplanes, AAA is one of the largest old-timer- association in Europe and is committed to the preservation of classical old-timer airplanes.

A highlight of AAA-events is usually the annual membership party (MIFAS), taking place in August. On alternating airports, the AAA-members assemble to enjoy a free and easy get-together. The MIFAS provides opportunities to longer or short flights within the area and facilitates contacts to other friendly clubs.

During the entire year, every first Wednesday of the month, a get-together is taking place at the Birrfeld-Airport, where intensive shop-talking goes on. Non-pilots among club-members are naturally welcome as well.

Two to three time per year, AAA organizes so-called .Fly-outs.. Approximately twenty old-timer airplanes fly together on a designated route across Europe. In the year 2002 there was one trip to Vienna and another one to Ireland. The destinations in the year 2003 were Rotterdam, Elba and the Normandy.

During Wintertime the AAA organizes several events dealing with various aviation topics.

We are an uncomplicated easy-going group of dedicated sports pilots and address each other by first names. Joining us the owner of an old-timer airplane receives access to technical knowledge for maintenance and operation of old-timer planes. Our non-flying members are invited to participate at our regular get-togethers such as the membership party and Winter-events. Quite often there are opportunities of going along on a flight.
